La classica raccolta completa di 5 LP "Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George & Ira Gershwin Song Book" (Verve MGVS 6082-5). Questa è stata una delle più ambiziose tra le celebri raccolte di canzoni registrate da Ella e uno dei migliori album di jazz vocale mai realizzati. Tutte le esecuzioni originali di Ella sono qui contenute, insieme ai due brani strumentali di apertura che erano inclusi su un disco separato con la raccolta originale di LP. Come bonus, è stato aggiunto il primo tentativo completo di Ella di registrare un libro di canzoni di Gershwin, l'LP Decca 10” del 1950 "Ella Sings Gershwin" (DL5300), che presenta la cantante in otto incredibili duetti con il pianista Ellis Larkins. Un singolo duetto Gershwin di Ella e Larkins registrato nel 1954 chiude la raccolta.
