Questo doppio cd presenta le registrazioni del 1958 realizzate da Ella Fitzgerald presso l'iconico club di Chicago Mister Kelly. Per trent'anni, prima che chiudesse il 25 agosto 1975, questo club è stato un trampolino di lancio per innumerevoli artisti. In queste registrazioni la leggendaria cantante è accompagnata da un trio con Lou Levy al pianoforte, Max Bennett al contrabbasso e di Gus Johnson alla batteria. Tra i brani proposti ci sono ovviamente noti standard, ma anche alcune canzoni che raramente cantava, come “Your Red Wagon” e “Across the Alley from the Alamo”.
