Pubblicato dalla Verve nel 1958, tre anni dopo la prematura morte di Parker all'età di 34 anni, l’album “Swedish Schnapps” riunisce due sessioni del 1951 i cui brani erano stati precedentemente pubblicati come singoli a 78 giri, e poi riuniti nell’ LP del 1955 “The Magnificent Charlie Parker” (MG C-646). Mentre una sessione vede la partecipazione del trombettista Red Rodney, l'altra è una reunion con il batterista Max Roach e il trombettista Miles Davis (che aveva lasciato il gruppo di Bird più di un anno prima). Come bonus sono stati aggiunti quattro brani che vedono Parker accompagnato da formazioni più grandi.
