Anche se Miles Davis scrisse un paio di colonne sonora di film, la sua musica fu utilizzata per decine di produzioni cinematografiche. Questo doppio cd riunisce le due colonne sonore scritte da Davis, quella del film del 1958 di Louis Malle “Ascenseur pour l'échafaud” e quella del film per la TV del 1959 “The Sound of Miles Davis” (che lo vedeva alla guida del suo quintetto e con la Gil Evans Orchestra), insieme alle registrazioni del trombettista che sono state utilizzate in vari film, tra cui il recente film biografico “Miles Ahead”.
