L’album “Moanin’”, del 1958, è considerato uno dei migliori album di Art Blakey e i Jazz Messengers. Esso rappresenta il primo LP della terza formazione del gruppo con il trombettista Lee Morgan, il sassofonista tenore Benny Golson, il pianista Bobby Timmons e il bassista Jymie Merritt. Come bonus di questa nuova edizione in vinile è stato aggiunto un cd contenente l’album completo e quattro tracce registrate nel corso della stessa sessione ma non incluse sull’album originale.
