Il sestetto ascoltato su “3 Blind Mice” (United Artists UAJ 14002) ha come membri Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Wayne Shorter, Cedar Waltone Jymie Merritt, ed è ampiamente considerato come una delle migliori formazioni dei leggendari Jazz Messengers di Art Blakey. L’album è stato registrato dal vivo al Renaissance Club di Hollywood, il 18 marzo 1962. Questo doppio cd raccoglie i due volumi originali dell’album e include, come bonus, tre precedenti versioni in studio di altrettanti brani presenti nell’album.
