Questo cd propone l’album originale di Gerry Mulligan “The Concert Jazz Band” (Verve V6-8388). Si tratta del primo album pubblicato dalla straordinaria big band di Mulligan che includeva artisti come Zoot Sims, Bob Brookmeyer, Conte Candoli, Gene Quill, Mel Lewis e naturalmente lo stesso Mulligan. Come bonus di questa nuova edizione è stato aggiunto  un altro album completo dalla stessa band, “Gerry Mulligan Presents a Concert in Jazz” (Verve V6-8415), registrato nel 1961.
