Questo cd propone, per la prima volta in assoluto, il concerto completo del trio di  Thelonious Monk al Newport Jazz Festival del 1958 e la sua perfomance in quartetto, anch’essa inedita, dell’anno successivo. Come bonus sono state aggiunte le uniche due tracce esistenti di Monk accompagnato dall’orchestra di Duke Ellington al Newport Jazz Festival del 1962. Questi tre concerti inediti offrono la possibilità di apprezzare Monk in contesti diversi e, in particolare nel caso dell’ultimo concerto, inusuali.
