L'album “That's My Story” è stato registrato dal grande John Lee Hooker per l'etichetta Riverside nel febbraio 1960. Questa sessione è stata quindi registrata quando Hooker era ancora sotto contratto con la Vee-Jay, ma il produttore Orrin Keepnews decise di allontanarsi dalle sonorità elettriche che avevano caratterizzato le pubblicazioni di Hooker per la Vee-Jay, cercando un approccio più acustico e arcaico. Come bonus questa nuova edizione propone due tracce registrate da Hooker il mese successivo: “Sunny Land” e “Canal Street Blues”.
