Questo cd riunisce due album tematici della straordinaria cantante Julie London, considerata una delle voci più sensuali della storia del jazz. Il primo album “Calendar Girl” (Liberty SL9002) contiene 13 canzoni, di cui 12 hanno un mese diverso in ogni titolo. Poiché non c’erano standard di qualità per ogni mese dell'anno, uno dei punti di forza di questo lavoro sono i brani appositamente per l'album, in particolare quelli scritti da Bobby Troup, il marito di London. Il secondo album “Around Midnight” (Liberty LST7164) propone invece una selezione di brani che evocano la notte.
