Entrambi gli album vedono Smith accompagnato da Stanley Turrentine al sax tenore, Kenny Burrell alla chitarra e Donald Bailey alla batteria. I due album sono stati registrati nel corso della stessa sessione di registrazione, il 25 Aprile 1960.
