Il produttore Sid Feller fu sorpreso quando Ray Charles gli chiese di realizzare una raccolta di brani country e western. Tuttavia, ora che abbiamo un panorama di tutta la carriera di Charles, risulta chiaro che country e western, così come il jazz, il blues, e tutti gli altri generi musicali popolari americani, sono sempre stati parte integrante del linguaggio del grande cantante e pianista. Dopo il sorprendente successo di “Modern Sounds In Country & Western Music”, Charles decis di registrare il volume due qui proposto. Oltre al capolavoro originale, questa nuova edizione include una bonus track: il blues “At the Club”, registrato nel 1962.
