Compositore a metà tra cinema, letteratura, ricerca etnomusicologica e folklorica, Manos Hadjidakis fu un compositore greco tanto poliedrico quanto costantemente legato alla propria terra di origine. Charles Calomiris ne ricostruisce musica e organico, in collaborazione con il Pana Hora Ensemble, e lo riporta a vita in questo album dall’evocativo titolo "Pilgrimage" che ne ripercorre passi, parole e musica in un viaggio emozionante fatto di suoni, sensazioni e suggestioni.
