Questo album intitolato “57” vede il sassofonista Stan Getz alla guida di un quintetto formato da Bob Brookmeyer al trombone, John Williams al piano, Teddy Kotick al contrabbasso e Frank Isola alla batteria. Nell’estate del 1953 questo quintetto ottenne un ingaggio presso il nightclub Zardi’s di Hollywood e Norman Granz ne approfittò per portare il quintetto in studio a Los Angeles. In questa nuova edizione sono stati aggiunti due brani tratti dalle stesse sessioni, ma non inclusi sull’LP originale.
