“The Sound of Johnny Cash”, pubblicato nel 1962, è il dodicesimo album del cantautore americano Johnny Cash. Tra le altre canzoni, l’album contiene “In the Jailhouse Now”, una cover di Jimmie Rodgers che ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche country, e “Delia's Gone”, che Cash avrebbe nuovamente registrato anni dopo nel 1994. Cash avrebbe registrato in seguito anche una versione significativamente più lenta in stile ballad di “I'm Free from the Chain Gang Now”, che è stata inserita nel disco postumo American V: A Hundred Highways come l'ultima traccia dell'album.
