Questo cd raccoglie due album del grande sassofonista Stan Getz: “Focus” (Verve V6-8412) e “Velvet Cool” (Verve MGVS68379). Il primo in ordine cronologico è in realtà “Velvet Cool” che è stato registrato nel 1960 a Baden Baden, in Germania, con una orchestra composta principalmente da musicisti europei. L’album vede Getz impegnato nell’interpretazione di standard arrangiati da Russell Garcia. “Focus” è stato registrato l’anno successivo e vede il sassofonista accompagnato di un’orchestra d’archi nell’interpretazioni di brani composti e arrangiati da Eddie Sauter.
