Questo cd ripropone il primo album natalizio realizzato dalla grande Ella Ftizgerald per la Verve nel 1960: Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas (Verve MGVS-64042). Alle 12 tracce originali sono state aggiunte 8 bonus tracks, composte da brani natalizi tratti dalla stessa sessione di registrazione ma non inclusi nell’album originale, così come da altre tracce isolate tratte da precedenti registrazioni della cantante. In questo album Ella Fitzgerald è in forma strepitosa e la sua voce straordinaria, affiancata dall’orchestra diretta da Frank DeVol, rendono questo album unico nel suo genere.
