Questo cd contiene gli album di Stan Getz “Interpretations by Getz Quintet” (Norgran MGN 1000) e “Interpretations by the Stan Getz Quintet # 2” (Norgran MGN 1008). Inoltre sono state aggiunte tre tracce che completano tutti i master registrati da Stan Getz (1927-1991) con il quintetto formato da Bob Brookmeyer, John Williams, Teddy Kotick e Frank Isola. Il repertorio della band si è consolidato durante l’ingaggio per sette settimane estive al nightclub Zardi di Hollywood Boulevard e il produttore Norman Granz ha tratto vantaggio da questa loro esperienza dal vivo durante queste sessioni. Sebben Getz avrebbe poi lavorato con i membri della band in altri contesti, non esiste nessun altra registrazione in studio o dal vivo di questa formazione.
