Egea is a records label but also represents a particular idea of music, which as per his name itself, expresses the wiliness of explore the features of a deep Mediterranean identity. In its production, comes out the perfume of the popular Italian traditions but also the research of the sound, the taste of a fine chamber music, the curiosity and wiliness of leading an original way, perhaps the Italian way towards Jazz. We are very proud of having the chance to work with some of the best musicians from our country, who play with the sensibility of their own native land, Naples, Piedmont, Sardinia or Umbria: Mario Brunello, Gabriele Mirabassi, Nicola Piovani, Cristina Zavalloni, Germano Mazzocchetti, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bebo Ferra, Stefano Cantini, Pietro Tonolo, Marco Zurzolo, Gianluigi Trovesi, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Battista Lena, Maria Pia De Vito, Stefano Battaglia, Danilo Rea, Riccardo Zegna, Gianni Coscia. Moreover, most of our records have deserved the collaboration of international musicians like: Guinga, André Mehmari, Richard Galliano, Michel Godard, Marc Johnson, Kenny Wheeler, Gil Goldstein, John Taylor, Paul Motian, Steve Swallow and many more.
Our music enjoys of a particular warmth due to the natural acoustics recording. We were using the beautiful Umbria scenarios like the ancient Morlacchi or the Pavone Theatres. Since ten years we also have our own recording room, an Auditorium from the XVI century, with its fantastic acoustic.
